For February, I made it a focus to reduce my driving expenses. As we all know, gas prices have been soaring of late, and this was definitely an area I knew I could improve upon. How did I do? I was able to improve my gas expenses by reducing costs 56%! This was mostly due to the fact that I took less high-mileage trips, but to a lesser extent, also achieved by just driving less on certain days. For example, I started giving up driving altogether on some Saturdays. Instead, I either jogged, walked, or biked to the places I wanted to go. I even started walking to and from work on a few days. I have the luxury of working very close to home (about 4 miles away), and this frequency of walking to work should only increase as the weather improves!
I was also able to spend a bit less on food, as I chose to eat in more often than not. Unfortunately, I had higher ‘fun’ expenses this month due to going out more frequently. That, and a few massages I got on some days during the middle of the week 🙂
